Chemical control of Phragmites australis (European common reed)

Survey and treat approximately 30 acres of Phragmites australis (European common reed) in ponds and marsh areas at Big Bend Preserve (Moreau Lake State Park) in northern Saratoga County. Work requires the use of a Marsh Master amphibious vehicle and treatment by a licensed herbicide applicator/technician. With assistance from the land manager, the vendor will be responsible for applying for an NYSDEC Aquatic Pesticide Permit (ECL Article 15) required for the direct application of an aquatic pesticide to surface waters of the State of an acre or more in size. Vendor will supply pesticide. Attending a pre-bid meeting will also be required. Work should be performed at the appropriate time based on seed set between August 18th and October 3rd, 2025.
