The City of Independence, Kansas, is requesting bids for chemicals to be used at the Independence Water Treatment Plant for the calendar year 2025. Each supplier may bid on one or more chemicals as they so desire and bids will be awarded on each chemical separately. The Plant has an offset loading dock, which is approached from a residential street. Long trailers don’t work well and the City Staff will not be responsible for offloading the truck for safety reasons. The driver is responsible for having the proper equipment to place the order in its storage area. (One Ton Chlorine Cylinders are the only exception)
Chemicals shall be FOB Independence, Kansas, with all freight, taxes or other related charges included in the bid price. Freight cost changes during the year will be accepted by the city upon a sixty (60) day notification by the supplier.
Due to the unstable cost of chemicals, price changes during the year will be accepted by the city upon a sixty (60) day notice by the supplier.
All cost due to container deposit and or demurrage shall be listed separate from the unit price. Any cleaning cost or re-inventory cost of empty containers shall also be listed separately. List separately any minimum delivery charges. All empty containers shall be picked up upon delivery of new chemicals.
Please submit bids by 2:00 PM, December 5, 2024 at which time the bids shall be opened publicly and read aloud. The selected bids will then be presented to the Independence City Commission for their formal action.
