2 General
The University of Iowa, located in Iowa City, Iowa (hereafter, "University") desires to obtain written proposals from
qualified suppliers to provide change management services.
Although the University has listed general criteria that will be used in its final evaluation, the University does not
intend these criteria to limit the Supplier's creativity in preparing a proposal it believes will accomplish the
University's goals. The use of a specific Supplier will be based on the Supplier's performance.
The required documentation of expertise and qualifications outlined in this request is intended to serve primarily as
a general guide for each statement of qualifications, with the minimum requirements listed. Each Supplier is
expected to submit a fully detailed statement of qualifications, which adequately describes the advantages and
benefits the University would realize by selecting the Supplier.

3 Background
The University of Iowa
The University is a broad-based public university of international stature. As of 2022-2023 The University has
31,317 students and is recognized for its academic achievement; leadership in research; and its teaching hospital
The University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. As of 2022 The University has an overall budget of $4.4 billion and
employs approximately 19,000 full-time faculty and staff. More information can be found at the Office of the

The University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics
The University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics serves as the teaching hospital and comprehensive medical center for
the State of Iowa. As part of its mission, UI Hospitals and Clinics, in conjunction with UI Carver College of Medicine
and other health science colleges at The University of Iowa, provides world-class family-centered health care,
extensive medical research, and comprehensive teaching programs for many health care professions. The hospital
employs more than 924 physicians and dentists, and more than 2,445 professional nurses. More than 10,224
additional staff members support all aspects of patient care services. The hospital provides 811 inpatient beds and
more than 1 million patient visits take place in the clinics every year. UI Hospitals and Clinics is consistently ranked
by U.S. News & World Report magazine as one of the nation's best hospitals, with many of its clinical specialties
ranked among the top twenty-five in the country.

4 Scope of Services
University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics has been operating at a high capacity on its university campus at 200 Hawkins
Drive for many years. As part of the University of Iowa master plan, work is in progress to build 12 operating rooms
at the new North Liberty campus to provide more access to high-quality care that Iowans need as the state’s
population continues to age and has more complex care needs.
The successful Supplier will work with UI Health Care Perioperative Services to provide custom change management
services to help support the University campus and planned extensions of surgical services, which includes the new
North Liberty campus. This work will focus on aligning the surgical team around purpose, strategic priorities, key
measures of success, and culture to achieve desired results.
As a major regional referral center for complex surgical procedures, our highly specialized experts work together in
multi-disciplinary teams to deliver patient-centered care in an environment of just culture. Our advanced facilities,
which are designed to accommodate the very latest techniques and technologies, allow for customized settings and
options that may lead to decreased postoperative pain, fewer side effects, and faster recoveries for patients.
The successful Supplier will be expected to provide the following services, including but not limited to:
1. Assess and understand the unique needs of the teams and organization
2. Define change objectives and a customized change management plan
3. Provide support online and in person, including coaching, training, and advisory services, to achieve and sustain
objectives.
4. Work in just culture, exhibit efficiencies, and clear communication for patient safety
5. Leverage multidisciplinary team dynamics to enhance communication, expand services, and perform at the
highest level
5 Scope of Services - Changes
The University reserves the right to change the scope of work as required. Notices of such changes will be made in
writing by the University to the Supplier.

6 Supplier Requirements
Suppliers must clearly demonstrate and provide documentation substantiating that they are compliant in each of the
following areas. The University reserves, solely, the right to reject any submittals if the evidence or references
submitted by such Supplier fails to satisfy the University that said Supplier is properly qualified in any of these
areas. It shall not be the responsibility of the University to request additional information to satisfy these
requirements, if such information is not provided with the submitted response. Failure to respond to any question or
follow the instructions herein may result in disqualification

7 Project Proposal
Provide a proposal detailing the Supplier's process to be used in providing the services described herein. The
proposal should clearly indicate any major requirements that cannot be met by the Supplier, and highlight the major
features of the proposal to assist the reader in determining generally how the qualifications of the Supplier and the
proposal meets and exceeds the requirements proposed by the University.
Please include, at minimum, the following information in your Proposal:
1. Please describe your proposed plan for training, implementation, and sustainment.
2. Please detail what tools and resources will be available to the University to assist with implementation.
3. Please describe if you offer an "al a carte" option, or if you offer a set program.
4. Please describe the number of employees and managers you can work with at one time to execute the
deliverables. Please provide an example from your previous work.
5. Please tell us about your experience working with healthcare provider based organizations, particularly any
similar to the University of Iowa.
6. Please tell us about the kind of change management methodology you have used.
7. Please describe the level of training/coaching you provide. i.e. is it group or individual based?
8. Please clearly describe all costs and fees for your services, including all travel and other expenses.

8 References
The successful Supplier must demonstrate to The University that it has adequate experience. Please submit three
(3) references for which the Supplier has provided these services. Of particular interest to us would be your firm’s
previous work with comparable institutions using services outlined in this RFQL. Client references should represent
major accounts of the Supplier. Include the business or institution’s name and address, as well as the contact’s
name with a telephone number, fax number and e-mail address.
