Central Avenue Sidewalk Improvement Project

ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS

The CITY OF CLEVELAND will receive sealed bids for the furnishing of all labor, materials and services for the Central Avenue Sidewalk Improvement Project until 2:00 PM, EST, on October 22, 2024, at the Cleveland Municipal Council Room, 190 Church Street, NE, Cleveland, TN 37311.   Any bid received after the date and time specified shall not be considered.

The project includes removing existing rigid/flexible pavement, installing curb, gutter, driveways and sidewalk along Central Avenue between Gaut Street and the Railroad tracks.

Attention to bidders is particularly called to the requirements as to the conditions of employment to be served and Davis Bacon Act minimum wage rates shall be paid under the contract.  This project is funded by the Community Development Block Grant.

The Award and Execution of Contract will be in compliance with Section 103 and 107 of the Contract Work Hours and Safety Standards Act (40 U.S.C. 327-330) as supplemented by Department of Labor regulations (29 CFR part 5).

Each bidder must submit a bid security deposit not less than five percent (5%) of the bid on the form provided and subject to the conditions under section, “Bid Guaranty”.  No Builder Risk Insurance is required.

Liquidated damages in the amount designated in the Specification and Contract Documents will be assessed for failure to complete the work within the contract completion time as specified therein.  No bidder may withdraw his bid within 60 days after the actual date of the opening thereof.

Bids must be enclosed in a sealed envelope, plainly marked “Bid – Central Ave Sidewalks” and mailed or delivered to the City of Cleveland, Attention: Kristi Powers.
