CDBG - Fair Housing

Dane County is currently seeking projects that will provide fair housing education and outreach services and report on the number, basis, and resolution of fair housing complaints within the participating municipalities in the Dane County Urban County Consortium or at agencies/organizations that provide services to participating municipalities. In 2025, there were 56 participating municipalities.

Dane County requires that all applicants complete the Vendor Questionnaire/CDBG application in it's entirety, and sign the Signature Power Form at the end of the Questionnaire. Failure to do so may result in the application to become ineligible for funding and may not be scored.

Dane County, Wisconsin, is experiencing rapid population growth, which makes the pursuit of fair and equitable housing a central concern for local government and community stakeholders. Dane County is committed to enhancing fair housing opportunities by providing a range of fair housing services, including fair housing counseling, complaint investigations, and enforcement of fair housing laws. Additionally, the vendor will conduct training and outreach activities to educate the public and housing providers about fair housing rights and responsibilities. A critical component of the project is to provide accessible avenues for residents to file complaints, ensuring that the process is user-friendly. The vendor must demonstrate experience in these areas and have the capacity to operate with a toll-free phone number and a dedicated website for complaint submissions.
