INVITATION TO BID
Columbia County School District requests sealed bids from General Contractors for construction of:
Lakeside High School Roof Replacement
Columbia County, Georgia
Bids will be received by the COLUMBIA COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT (Owner) at the office of the Columbia
County School District, Attn: Mr. Tim Beatty, 4781 Hereford Farm Road, Evans, Georgia 30809, until 02:00
P.M. local prevailing time on August 18, 2026.
The bids will be publicly opened and read aloud at the conference room of the Columbia County Board of
Education, 4781 Hereford Farm Road, Evans, Georgia 30809 at 02:00 P.M., LOCAL TIME, August 18, 2026.
A mandatory pre-bid conference will be held on August 4, 2026, at 02:00 p.m. local time at the
Project site, 533 Blue Ridge Dr., Evans, Georgia.
Bidding documents may be obtained at the office of the Architect, 2KM Architects, Inc., 529 Greene
Street, Augusta, GA 30901, (706) 736-3333. Applications for documents, together with a deposit of
$175.00 per set shall be filed promptly with the Program manager. Bidding material will be forwarded,
shipping charges collect, as soon as possible. The deposit is non-refundable.
Contract, if awarded, will be on a lump sum basis. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of 35 days after
time has been called on the date of opening. Bids must be accompanied by a bid bond and in an amount
not less than 5% of the base bid. Both a performance bond and a payment bond will be required in an
amount equal to 100% of the contract price, and executed by a surety company licensed to do business in
the State of Georgia and listed in the Department of the Treasury Circular 570, latest edition. The Surety
Company shall have an A. M. Best Company minimum rating of "A" with a financial size of VII "7" or
better. Bonds must be accompanied by letter stating bonding company's current rating for verification
prior to acceptance by the Owner and execution of the formal Owner/Contractor agreement.
Contractors shall submit to the Owner the completed Statement of Bidders Qualifications Form attached
to the Proposal Form at the time of the bid. The successful bidder must be prepared to submit within five
(5) days of Owner's request a properly executed AIA Document A-305 with a current audited/reviewed
Financial Statement (both to be less than one-year old). Inquiries concerning procedures should be

The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive technicalities and informalities and to
award the project on whatever basis is in the interest of the Owner.
