Contract Catholic Religious Services Opportunity:
Lorain Correctional Institution is seeking a provider of Catholic religious services. The
successful applicant must be appropriately credentialed in the faith.
Candidates applying must be in good standing with his or her denomination. The candidate
selected will be subject to a background check and must undergo institutional orientation
training as well as specialized training under the Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA). The
selected candidate must be willing to accept that a prison is a potentially hazardous
environment. Lorain Correctional Institution is a correctional facility that houses
approximately 1600 male offenders with security levels ranging from minimum to
maximum.
Services desired include Catholic Mass and Catholic Catechism. General pastoral care
and counseling will also be an expected part of the job duties and must be offered to the
Catholic offenders.
This contract will be for services rendered in the amount of $10,521.45 per annum to be
invoiced by contractor monthly. The candidate selected will be expected to coordinate his
or her activities with the Institutional Chaplain under the overall direction of the Unit
Management Chief. Duty hours of approximately 10 hours per week are expected. The
contract term for said services will begin July 1, 2025, and continue through June 30, 2027.
The contract can be renewed for up to 4 additional years.
Monthly reports of services rendered must be submitted to the Deputy Warden of Holistic
Services each month and attendance at the yearly Religious Services meeting is required.
