Capitola Library Renewable Energy Project

The County of Santa Cruz invites sealed proposals from fully licensed, insured, bo nded, and certified Contractors to furnish all labor, tools, equipment, and incidentals required to design, procure, build, and commission a rooftop-mounted, solar photovoltaic (PV) system with an additive alternate battery energy storage system (BESS) under a turn-key, Design-Build Engineering, Procurement, and Construction Contract (EPC Contract). This includes the design of PV and BESS, preparation and submittal of a City of Capitola (City) Building Permit application and issuance of a City permit, procurement of all materials, construction of PV system and BESS, and commissioning of the system. The target PV system size is approximately 90 kW DC and the target BESS system is approximately 35kW, 140kWh li-ion battery with islanding capability to support critical facility loads during grid outages. Final system size will be finalized with the selected Contractor.

The project is located at the newly reconstructed Capitola Branch Library, located at 2005 Wharf Rd, Capitola, CA 95010. The contract for this work will be with the County of Santa Cruz General Services Department.
