Campus Wide Laundry & Linen Services

Project Description: The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio (UTHSA) is soliciting proposals from qualified firms to provide commercial laundry, linen, and lab coat cleaning services across multiple UTHSA operations, including Multispecialty and Research Hospital MSRH, Dental, and Clinical Operations, located throughout UTHSA campus locations and Hill Country regions.
UTHSA operates a multi-location healthcare and academic system that includes hospital, outpatient clinics, surgical centers, research and teaching laboratories, specialty care facilities, and administrative buildings. Reliable, hygienic, and responsive laundry and linen services are essential to support patient care, clinical operations, research integrity, infection prevention, employee safety, and professional appearance standards.
Services under this RFP include, but are not limited to:
• Cleaning and processing of UTHSA-owned lab coats.
• Rental and UTHSA-owned healthcare linen services.
• Optional UTHSA-owned[CJ2.1][CJ2.2][AG2.3][CJ2.4] or employee-owned scrub laundering programs.
• Pick-up, delivery, tracking, repairing, replacement, reporting, and disposal services as applicable.
• Inventory review and management of PAR levels.
Volumes may fluctuate unpredictably due to patient census, seasonal demand, emergent care activity, departmental needs, and organizational growth. Certain locations lack centralized dirty-linen staging areas, requiring vendors with strong logistics and flexible service models.
Proposers may submit responses for:
• All requested services.
• One or more individual service categories (e.g., lab coats only, linen only, or select options).
• One or more individual service locations (e.g., Clinical, MSRH, combined both Clinical and MSRH).
Each department will issue its own purchase order and pay for its respective services. Quantities, frequency, and locations will vary by department and site.
No Guarantee of Volume. UTHSA does not solicit or guarantee any specific amount of compensation, volume, minimum, or maximum amount of Services under this RFP or any contract or agreement resulting from this RFP.
Multi-Award. UTHSA reserves the right to multi-award this RFP.
