Campus Gas Line Replacement - Construction Materials Testing and Special Inspections

UNC Pembroke seeks a professional services firm to provide Construction Materials testing and special inspections for the replacement of a section of subsurface natural gas piping. The Campus Gas Line Replacement project entails replacing a section of the existing steel gas piping system located between North Hall and Locklear Hall. The current line is believed to be deteriorating, and it will be upgraded to a corrosion-resistant High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) pipe. The new pipeline will generally follow the existing alignment and will be designed to meet or exceed the current system's capacity. The University intends to select a qualified Special Inspections firm through a qualifications-based review process consistent with applicable SCO/SBC procedures. The University selection committee will evaluate submissions, rank firms based on demonstrated qualifications, and proceed with selection without conducting formal interviews.
