Description View Changes

The USAF Minuteman III Launch Facility (LF) and Launch Control Center (LCC) motor generators require a specialized cadmium plating process on mating metal surfaces to ensure corrosion protection and low bonding resistance. This process involves specific equipment, chemicals, and brush cadmium plating techniques. Cadmium plating is critical not only for corrosion control but also for its high electrical conductivity, meeting nuclear hardness bonding and grounding requirements in the Minuteman (MM) Weapon System. The USAF currently mandates the overhaul of at least 11 LF and 4 LCC motor generators annually, with cadmium plating repair integrated into the depot repair/overhaul process.

If you are interested and capable of performing these cadmium plating requirements for the Minuteman III motor generator overhaul, please contact: Merrick Flygare, merrick.flygare@us.af.mil, 801-775-2223 and Michael Checketts, michael.checketts@us.af.mil, 801-586-6638 with the following information:
