Summary

This Request for Proposal (RFP) is for Category 6 UTP ethernet compliant cabling and 6-strand fiber materials and installation upgrade for fifteen (15) District sites. Tucson Unified School District has dramatically increased network traffic with the addition of a student 1-to-1 program that provides a mobile device for each student, as well as for each teacher and administrator. This project will support the expansion of current and future network traffic through installation of single-mode fiber, and OAP equipment. A purchase order will be issued to the awarded vendor as soon as funding is available, no later than July 1, 2025. In addition, the District reserves the right to limit or modify the scope of work based on budgetary limitations unrelated to E-Rate. To ensure funding availability all invoicing must be issued no later than June 30, 2026.

Adhere and comply with all requirements of the product Manufacturer.

Background

Tucson Unified School District is one of the largest school districts in Southern Arizona, spanning more than 250 square miles. The district serves roughly 42,000 students, and has around 8,000 members on it's staff. Tucson Unified School District has dramatically increased network traffic in recent years with it's Virtual Academy, and the addition of a student 1-to-1 program that provides a mobile device for each student, as well as for all staff members. This project will help increase network stability and will help handle the increased traffic.

Tucson Unified School District (TUSD) intends to apply for discounts on the products and services listed in this RFP through the federal E-Rate program for Fiscal Year 2025/2026. (7/1/2025– 6/30/2026).
