The Work comprises, but is not limited to: Mobilization, traffic control, installation of video detection; remove existing traffic signal backplate and replace with retroreflective backplate, removal and reconstruction of deteriorated pavement, grind and overlay asphalt pavement; deep patch removal and replacement of existing asphalt pavement; adjustment to grade of existing water valve covers, sewer, storm drain, and utility manhole covers; remove and reconstruct existing driveway approach, restoration of striping, pavement markings, and legends; installation of thermoplastic crosswalks and signage.

Qualifications:
The Contractor shall possess a valid Class A Contractor's license at the time of submitting bids. The minimum acceptable experience shall include direct responsibility for performing the necessary work. To be qualified, bidders must have the experience, manpower, and equipment necessary and have successfully completed a minimum of five (5) projects of similar-type pavement rehabilitation project, with asphalt tonnage greater than or equal to 3,000 per project, for a government/ public agency in the last three (3) years. Failure to meet the minimum qualification will render a bidder non-responsive.
Special Requirements:
10% Bid Bond, 100% Performance Bond, 100% Payment Bond. It shall be mandatory, upon the contractor to whom the contract is awarded, and upon any subcontractor under him, to pay not less than the prevailing rate of wages as established by the City Council as they apply to the work being performed. Said prevailing rates are available from the State of California Department of Industrial Relations website (**See link under Description).
