Denver’s Office of Climate Action, Sustainability and Resiliency (CASR) has a mission to create a more sustainable, resilient Denver. Within CASR, the Buildings and Homes Team works to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in buildings and homes to zero. The Buildings and Homes team focuses on three main areas:
The BPP works with all commercial and multifamily buildings 5,000 square feet and up to improve their energy performance to meet 2030 targets. Building Electrification works to electrify all existing buildings and homes within Denver. New Buildings works with the Office of Community Planning and Development to develop a building code that moves new construction towards zero emissions. There are many opportunities for cross pollination between our programs, a need to obtain market insights to better inform program design, and an urgent need to measure our impact. We need to know whether our actions are helping us reach our zero emissions goals.
CASR does not currently have the data infrastructure to provide insights on what equipment are in specific buildings, nor how those buildings are performing. There is no way to identify which buildings need to transition equipment and when. We cannot accurately track and evaluate the impact of our programs or new buildings’ compliance with the Denver Building Code.
CASR is requesting a Solution that will do the following:
To create a centralized storage location to store data and enable CASR to evaluate and measure impact of programs in relation to Net Zero goals. To improve information sharing across programs and provide key insights into the market to better inform program design.
