SECTION 00100 – ADVERTISMENT FOR BIDS
Sealed proposals for the BROAD STREET PS & FM PROJECT will be received by the City of Adrian at 135 E. Maumee Street,
Adrian, MI 49221 until 10:00 a.m., Local Time on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at which time and place all bids will be publicly opened
and read.
Bidders shall review and comply with the Instructions to Bidders (Section 00200), which are incorporated by reference, and carefully
review all Contract Documents, as defined in the Instructions to Bidders. Bids submitted after the exact time specified will not be
considered.
The Contracts will consist of the following principal items of work and appurtenances as specified herein and detailed in the Contract
Documents.
Description of Work
The project consists of the replacement of existing pumps and interior header pipe replacement at the Broad Street Pump
Station, as well as replacement of the existing dual 18-inch cast iron and transite sanitary sewer force main with a 20-inch HDPE
sanitary force main. The force main consists of dual force mains of approximately 4,700-feet each and will be installed using
horizontal directional drilling methods. Two (2) air relief valves and two (2) plug valves are included. The force main will cross
two (2) reaches of the River Raisin.
Bidding Documents may be examined at the office of the City of Adrian 135 E. Maumee Street, Adrian, MI 49221 and The
Mannik & Smith Group, Inc., 237 North Main Street, Adrian, Michigan, 49221 and via email.
Bidders may obtain documents at the office of The Mannik & Smith Group, Inc. in hard copy or by email at no charge to the
Contractor.
Each bidder agrees to waive any claim it has or may have against the Owner, the Engineer, and their respective
employees, arising out of or in connection with the administration, evaluation, or recommendation of any bid.
Each bid proposal shall be submitted on the proposal forms provided and shall be accompanied by a bid deposit via certified
check, cashier's check or bid bond, executed by the bidder and Surety Company, payable to the City of Adrian in the amount of
Five Percent (5%) of the accompanying bid.
Proposal Guarantee shall provide assurance that the bidder will, upon acceptance of the bid, execute the necessary Contract
with the City of Adrian. No bid may be withdrawn after scheduled closing time for receiving bids for at least one hundred and
twenty (120) days.
The successful bidder will be required to furnish the original certified bid check, satisfactory Performance, Labor and Material,
and Maintenance and Guarantee Bonds in the amount of 100% of the project prior to award.
Bidder understands that the City reserves the right to approve any combination of the Base Bid and may remove portions of work,
as needed.
