Summary
The City of Aurora is seeking proposals from qualified environmental contractors to provide comprehensive environmental investigation, remediation, and regulatory support services for identified brownfield properties funded through the Thriving Communities Grant Program. The selected contractor will be responsible for all services necessary to investigate site conditions, develop and implement appropriate remedial measures, and support completion of the Illinois EPA Site Remediation Program (SRP) requirements through issuance of No Further Remediation (NFR) Letters.
Background
The City of Aurora has received Great Lakes Thriving Communities Grantmaking Program funding, administered by the Minneapolis Foundation using U.S. Environmental Protection Agency pass-through funds, to support brownfield cleanup and redevelopment readiness in Downtown Aurora. Because the grant period ends July 31, 2027, the City seeks a qualified environmental services firm that can efficiently complete investigation, remediation, Illinois EPA Site Remediation Program documentation, and pursuit of No Further Remediation determinations. This project has an accelerated timeline and requires an experienced environmental services firm capable of moving quickly through investigation, remediation, regulatory coordination, and required documentation.
