Broadband for Schoharie County

Schoharie County (Owner) will be deploying a new fiber optic network reaching the unserved in the most rural and hard-to-reach areas of Schoharie County. The purpose of this Pre-Bid Notice and Bid Packet Release is to allow prospective Contractors to evaluate the project and determine if they are going to attend the pre-bid meeting which will allow for the submission of a bid response.

The project will construct 323.5 miles of new aerial and buried fiber optic network to reach 499-unserved locations in Schoharie County. This new fiber optic network has the potential of connecting to more than 4,000 locations. The OSP construction effort will connect three (3) new Telecom Shelters (also known as “Huts”), eight (8) existing huts and the CO, with their new Access Electronics, Transport Electronics and Miscellaneous Equipment. Also being contracted separately is the Telecom Shelter Site Construction, and Power-Generators.
