Broad and Silver Street Improvements

The City of Westfield, Massachusetts invites sealed bids for furnishing all labor and materials and performing all work in connection with complete streets improvements to Broad Street and East Silver Street, total project length 4,730 feet of roadway as follows.

The work includes but is not limited to removal of existing pavement markings, pavement fog seal treatment, installation of eight raised crosswalks, rectangular rapid flashing beacons at each raised crosswalk, replacement of all pavement markings including on-street buffered bike lanes on Broad Street, drainage improvements at the raised crosswalk locations, pedestrian ramp reconstruction, and other incidental items to complete the required work.

Procedures regarding bids and the selection of contractors shall be in conformity with the Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 30, Section 39M, as amended to date. Sealed Bids for the General Contract must be delivered to the City of Westfield Purchasing Department, 59 Court Street, Room 101, Westfield, MA 01085 prior to 2:00 PM Eastern Daylight Savings Time, on Tuesday, June 10, 2025 at which time and place the bids will be publicly opened and read aloud. Bids received after the above time and date will be returned unopened.

Attention is called to the minimum wage rates to be paid on the work as determined by the Commissioner of Labor & Industries under the provisions of General Laws, Chapter 149, Sections 26 to 27G, inclusive.
