Description

This Request for Information is published for Market Research purposes only. The Government is conducting market research to identify potential sources that possess the capabilities and experience to meet qualification requirements to provide engineering services for AFLCMC/WIU SOF/PR Fixed Wing system and subsystems. THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) ONLY. In accordance with FAR 52.215-3, this RFI is issued solely for information and planning purposes- it does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP) or a promise to issue an RFP in the future. This request for information does not commit the Government to contract for any supply or service whatsoever.



Responders are advised that the U.S. Government will not reimburse participants for any expenses incurred in response to this RFI; all costs associated with responding to this RFI will be solely at the interested party’s expense. Not responding to this RFI does not preclude participation in any future RFP nor does it ensure participation, if any is issued. If a solicitation is released, it will be synopsized on the Federal Business Opportunities (SAM.gov) website. It is the responsibility of the potential offerors to monitor this site for additional information pertaining to this requirement.



Potential sources must possess the means to design a Brake Temperature Monitoring System (BTMS) Kit for trial installation on the MC-130J aircraft. BTMS shall be a low cost, simplified modification that is non-evasive to other systems on the aircraft providing digital temperature readouts to the pilot and co-pilot for each brake stack alerting of an impending overheat condition that is Night Vision Imagery System compliant. The contractor shall be able to address brake temperature monitoring issues, provide operational capability improvements, have the ability to analyze/recommend improvements, suggest/provide reliability and maintainability actions, assist with resolving deficiency reports, provide engineering/technical support for trial install, test, data gathering, evaluate test data results, and assist with BTMS troubleshooting repairs. The contractor shall also assist with maintenance assists as required through the trial test period, possess the ability to develop Time Compliance Technical Orders, Technical Order change packages, Operational Supplements, and drawing packages.



Contractor shall furnish all materials and services. The contractor is responsible for providing, utilizing, and maintaining, all equipment and software required at their facility or a subcontractor’s facility to perform these services.
