The City of Bristol is seeking bids for installation of storm drainage and associated work in the vicinity of Brace Avenue and O’Sullivan Drive from Vine Road to Camp Street. Bid documents may be obtained at no charge by downloading from the City of Bristol website via the document link noted below.
Bids will be accepted until April 24, 2025 at 10:00 am at the City of Bristol Purchasing Department, 111 North Main Street, 3rd Floor, Bristol CT 06010, at which time bids will be opened and read. Bids received after the opening date and time will not be considered for award. The City reserves the right to waive any informalities in the bid, to reject any or all bids, and to accept the bid that in its judgment is in its best interest.
A non-mandatory bidder’s conference to review the project requirements will be held on April 15, 2025 at 9:00 am at Bristol City Hall, 111 North Main Street, Room 310, Bristol CT.
Firms submitting bids must be pre-qualified with the State of Connecticut Department of Administrative Services (“DAS”) to perform sitework, and shall include with their bid a copy of a current certificate as issued by DAS. Additionally, any contractor or subcontractor performing any work on this contract must be pre-qualified with DAS to perform said services, and shall include with their bid a copy of a current certificate as issued by DAS.
Pursuant to Public Act 15-5, this contract is subject to state contract compliance requirements, including non-discrimination statutes and set-aside requirements. State law requires a minimum of twenty-five (25%) percent of the state-funded portion of the contract be set aside for aware to subcontractors holding current certification from the Connecticut Department of Administrative Services. The contractor must demonstrate good faith effort to meet the 25% set-aside goals.
Each bid shall be in a sealed envelope addressed to the City of Bristol Purchasing Department, identified as "Bid 2C25-068 Brace Avenue Storm Drainage Replacement" accompanied by a Bid Security in the amount of 5 % of the bidders base bid amount, in the form of a Bid Bond made payable to the City of Bristol. The requirements for prevailing wage rates are to apply to the resultant contract award.
The awarded contractor will be required to secure a Performance Bond and a Labor and Materials Bond, each in the amount of 100% of the contract award, provided by a surety licensed to do business in the State of Connecticut.
The contractor will take affirmative action to ensure that applicants are employed, and that employees are treated during employment, without regard to their race, color, religion, gender, or national origin.
