INVITATION TO BID
The City of Meriden is accepting sealed bids for:
B024-50
CONSTRUCT 4-UNIT HANGARS
FAA AIP No. 3-09-0012-xxx-2024
MERIDEN-MARKHAM MUNICIPAL AIRPORT
The Meriden-Markham Municipal Airport proposes to construct a 4-unit box hangars to the
south of Hangar I and along Hangar Taxilane East. This area is mostly level and at roughly at the
grade elevation, therefore only requiring minor grading and drainage. Electrical conduit will
connect to the panel on the north side of Hangar H and run behind and around the south end of
Hangar H to the proposed hangar location. The four-unit building will be 168’ long by 34’ wide.
Each unit will have a clear door opening of 41’6” x 12’0” to accommodate typical single engine
aircraft.
Bids shall be submitted on forms and in the manner specified. Forms and specifications may be
obtained from the City of Meriden website (www.meridenct.gov/business/bids-rfps/),
and on the State of Connecticut Department of Administrative Services website (https://
portal.ct.gov/DAS/CTSource) Bids will be accepted at the Purchasing Department, 142 East Main
Street, Room 210, Meriden, Connecticut 06450 until 11:00 A.M. local, eastern standard
time on April 29 2024 at which time they will be publicly opened and read. Any bid received
after the time and date specified shall not be considered.
A non-mandatory Pre-Bid Conference will be held at the project site. Please meet at
the Meriden-Markham Municipal Airport Terminal Building, 213 Evansville Avenue,
South Meriden, CT 06451 on April 17, 2024 at 1:00 P.M. It is recommended that bidders
attend the Pre-Bid Conference and sign in to confirm their attendance. This will be the only
opportunity to view the project area. Any State and/or local mandated COVID-19
requirements including proper PPE, will be required during the pre-bid conference.
The right is reserved to reject any or all bids, in whole or in part, to award any item, group of
items, or total bid, and to waive informality or technical defects, if it is deemed to be in the best
interest of the City of Meriden. No bidder may withdraw their bid within one hundred and
twenty (120) days of the date of the bid opening. Should there be reason why the contract cannot
be awarded within the specified period, the time may be extended by mutual agreement between
the City of Meriden and the bidder.
