Additional Description The work consists of demolishing and removing wooden structure and floor slab, demolishing and removing equipment inside of pump station, filling below grade structure with low density flowable fill, flushing and capping existing force main, and coordination with utilities to remove services, as shown on the Drawings and described herein. Bids shall be on a lump sum basis.

Sealed Bids for the Town of Southington, Blatchley Avenue Wastewater Pump Station
Demolition” will be received at the Southington Town Hall, Office of the Town Manager, 75 Main
Street, Southington, CT 06489 until Monday, March 9, 2020, at 10:00 a.m. at which time the Bids
received will be publicly opened and read. Sealed Bids must have outer envelope marked as
Town of Southington, Blatchley Avenue Wastewater Pump Station Demolition Project Contract
2020-01.
Bidding Documents may be obtained electronically from the Tighe & Bond website at:

Bidding documents may also be examined at the office of Tighe & Bond, Inc., 213 Court St, Suite
1100, Middletown, CT between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday,
legal holidays excluded; contact number is (860)704-4701. They may also be examined during
normal business hours at the Southington Engineering Department located in the Municipal Center,
196 North Main Street, Lower Level, Southington, CT.
All Bidders shall furnish with their Bid a bid deposit in the form of a bid bond in the amount of 5%
of the total amount of the Bid and made payable to the Town of Southington, CT. Performance and
Payment Bonds, in the full amount of the Contract price, will be required of the Successful Bidder.
The base bid shall be based on prevailing wages, unless the base bid is less than $99,999.
No Bid may be withdrawn within 120 days after the date of the opening of Bids.
Site visits can be arranged by calling the WPCF plant between the hours of 8:00 am and 2:00 pm
Tuesday through Thursday. The number for the plant is (860) 628-8530, the contact is Peter
Stallings.
Owner reserves the right to waive any informality in or to reject any or all Bids, or to accept any
Bid which in their opinion, is in the public interest to do so.
A non-mandatory pre-bid conference will be held at the site, 120 Blatchley Ave, Southington, CT
06489 on February 19,, 2020 at 10:00 am.
