Black Bear Road Rehabilitation Project - 2025-1

Project Description: Sealed bids for the Black Bear Road Rehabilitation Project will be received by Snow Shoe Township until 9:00 am on Friday, June 6, 2025.. This contract will consist of furnishing, placement, and compaction of approximately 1200 tons of 2A aggregate on Township Road 711. Optional bid items have been requested for final roadside preparation activities including fine grading of roadside channels and minor corrective actions to existing, long-term sediment controls.
Snow Shoe Township shall provide the following facilities and services related to this project: 1. The Township will close the portion of Black Bear Road to be affected by the work of this project for the duration of the project, and the Township will be responsible for detours and road closure signage; 2. The Township will provide access to the project site with no local road bonding required; 3. The Township will provide preliminary preparation work, including ditch maintenance, grading and compacting of existing roadway surface, and filling and compacting of all potholes in roadway. All materials shall be suitable to meet the requirements of the PA Dirt and Gravel Road Program.
Specifications may be obtained from PennBid. Each bid must be submitted on the provided forms, and be accompanied by a 10% bid security in the form of a bid bond or certified check payable to Snow Shoe Township. Bids shall be guaranteed for 10 days. All questions and bids shall be submitted to PennBid.
All work must be completed by June 28, 2025. This work is funded by a Dirt and Gravel Road Program Grant provided through the Centre County Conservation District and awarded to Snow Shoe Township.
Bids must be received by 9:00 am on Friday, June 6, 2025, at which time bids will be opened via PennBid. Bids will be considered by the Snow Shoe Township Board of Supervisors at their special meeting to be held at 9:00 on Friday, June 6, 2025. Snow Shoe Township reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive any informalities in the bidding process, and to award the bid as may be deemed by the Township to be in their best interests.
