RESPONSIBILITY TO NOTIFY THE OWNER'S REPRESENTATIVE IN WRITING PRIOR TO THE START OF CONSTRUCTION. FAILURE BY THE CONTRACTOR TO NOTIFY THE OWNER'S REPRESENTATIVE
SHALL CONSTITUTE ACCEPTANCE OF FULL RESPONSIBILITY BY THE CONTRACTOR TO COMPLETE THE SCOPE OF WORK AS DEFINED BY THE DRAWINGS AND IN FULL CONFORMANCE WITH

6. AS CONSTRUCTION IS COMPLETED, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL REMOVE ALL EXCESS MATERIAL, DEBRIS, ETC. AND RESTORE OR REPLACE ANY DAMAGE TO LANDSCAPING AND SITE FEATURES.
7. AREAS OUTSIDE THE PROJECT LIMIT LINE DISTURBED BY CONSTRUCTION SHALL BE RETURNED TO THEIR ORIGINAL CONDITION OR BETTER AND SHALL BE GRADED TO MEET PROPOSED
CONSTRUCTION AS DIRECTED BY THE OWNER'S REPRESENTATIVE. COST FOR THIS WORK SHALL BE BORNE BY THE CONTRACTOR AT NO ADDITIONAL COST TO THE OWNER.
8. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PROCURE ALL THE NECESSARY PERMITS AND LICENSES, AT THE TIME REQUIRED, PAY ALL THE CHARGES AND FEES, AND GIVE NOTICES AS NECESSARY AND DUE IN
CONNECTION WITH THE LAWFUL EXECUTION OF THE WORK AT NO ADDITIONAL COST TO THE OWNER.
9. ALL UTILITY BOXES, FRAMES, AND GRATES, ETC. AFFECTED BY THE CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES SHALL BE RESET/RECONSTRUCTED TO THE PROPER GRADE. ALL COST RELATED TO SUCH WORK
SHALL BE INCLUDED IN THE BID PRICE.
10. EXCAVATION OF ANY TYPE SHALL BE ACCOMPLISHED IN SUCH A MANNER THAT UNDERGROUND UTILITIES OR STRUCTURES ARE NOT DAMAGED. IT SHALL BE THE CONTRACTOR'S SOLE
RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY DAMAGED INCURRED DURING CONSTRUCTION OPERATIONS. ALL EXCAVATION SHALL BE IN CONFORMANCE WITH THE LATEST OSHA REQUIREMENTS.
11. ALL DRIVEWAYS, ROADS, STAIRS, AND SIDEWALKS DISTURBED BY THE CONSTRUCTION IN OR OUTSIDE THE PROJECT LIMIT LINE SHALL BE RETURNED TO THEIR ORIGINAL CONDITION OR
BETTER AND SHALL BE GRADED TO MEET THE PROPOSED CONSTRUCTION AS DIRECTED BY THE OWNER'S REPRESENTATIVE AT NO ADDITIONAL COST TO THE OWNER.
12. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL SUFFICIENTLY COVER ALL DISTURBED AREAS AT THE END OF EACH WORK DAY TO AVOID ANY RISK OF INJURY TO PEDESTRIAN OR VEHICULAR TRAFFIC. THE
CONTRACTOR SHALL INSTALL TEMPORARY SUPPORT SYSTEMS OVER TRENCH EXCAVATIONS THAT ARE TAMPER RESISTANT AND SAFE FOR VEHICULAR AND PEDESTRIAN TRAFFIC. THE
CONTRACTOR SHALL INSTALL BARRICADES TO PROTECT AGAINST PEDESTRIAN ACCESS. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL OBTAIN APPROVAL OF THE TEMPORARY SAFETY MEASURES BY THE OWNER'S
REPRESENTATIVE. ALL MAINTENANCE AND PROTECTION OF BOTH PEDESTRIAN AND VEHICULAR TRAFFIC ARE INCLUDED IN THE BID PRICE FOR THIS PROJECT.
13. THE STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS (FOR SITE /CIVIL WORK) SHALL BE THE STATE OF CONNECTICUT, DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION, STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS FOR ROADS, BRIDGES,
AND INCIDENTAL CONSTRUCTION, FORM 819, 2020, INCLUDING ALL SUPPLEMENTS THERETO. FORM 819 IS AVAILABLE FOR VIEWING ON THE CTDOT WEBSITE WWW.CT.GOV.DOT/SITE UNDER
THE "PUBLICATIONS" TAB.
14. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL RECORD THE LOCATIONS OF ALL UNDERGROUND UTILITIES INSTALLED OR FOUND WITHIN THE PROJECT LIMIT LINE DURING CONSTRUCTION. THE UTILITIES SHALL
BE MEASURED FROM PERMANENT SURFACE FEATURES AND COMPILED BY THE CONTRACTOR ON RECORD DRAWINGS. AN AS-BUILT SURVEY, SHALL BE PREPARED BY A SURVEYOR LICENSED IN
THE STATE OF CONNECTICUT AND IN ACCORDANCE WITH T-2 TOPOGRAPHIC SURVEY STANDARDS. CONTRACTOR SHALL SUBMIT AS-BUILT SURVEY TO THE SCHOOL, THE OWNER'S
REPRESENTATIVE, AND THE ENGINEER FOR REVIEW AND COMMENT.
15. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL COMPLETE ALL WORK SO THAT ANY MATERIALS WHICH ARE TO REMAIN IN PLACE OR WHICH ARE TO REMAIN THE PROPERTY OF THE OWNER, WILL NOT BE DAMAGED.
IF THE CONTRACTOR DAMAGES ANY MATERIALS WHICH ARE TO REMAIN, OR WHICH ARE TO REMAIN THE PROPERTY OF THE OWNER, THE DAMAGED MATERIALS SHALL BE REPLACED TO THE
SATISFACTION OF THE OWNER'S REPRESENTATIVE AT THE EXPENSE OF THE CONTRACTOR.
16. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL EXCAVATE AND LEGALLY DISPOSE OF OFF-SITE ANY EXCESS PAVEMENT AND BASE. THE COST FOR THIS WORK SHALL BE INCLUDED IN THE LUMP SUM BID FOR THE
PROJECT.
17. TIGHE & BOND ASSUMES NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY ISSUES, LEGAL OR OTHERWISE, RESULTING FROM CHANGES MADE TO THESE DRAWINGS WITHOUT WRITTEN AUTHORIZATION FROM
TIGHE & BOND.
18. EXCAVATE ADDITIONAL TEST PITS TO LOCATE EXISTING UTILITIES AS DIRECTED OR APPROVED BY THE ENGINEER.
19. NOTIFY THE ENGINEER OF ANY UTILITIES IDENTIFIED DURING CONSTRUCTION THAT ARE NOT SHOWN ON THE DRAWINGS OR THAT DIFFER IN SIZE OR MATERIAL.
20. THE CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR SITE SAFETY; COORDINATION WITH THE OWNER, ALL SUBCONTRACTORS, AND WITH OTHER CONTRACTORS WORKING WITHIN THE LIMITS OF WORK,

IMMEDIATELY NOTIFY THE ENGINEER IN WRITING FOR RESOLUTION OF THE CONFLICTING INFORMATION.
24. PROTECT AND MAINTAIN ALL UTILITIES IN THE AREAS UNDER CONSTRUCTION DURING THE WORK. LEAVE ALL PIPES AND STRUCTURES WITHIN THE LIMITS OF THE CONTRACT IN A CLEAN AND
OPERABLE CONDITION AT THE COMPLETION OF THE WORK. TAKE ALL NECESSARY PRECAUTIONS TO PREVENT SAND AND SILT FROM DISTURBED AREAS FROM ENTERING THE DRAINAGE
SYSTEM.
25. NOTIFY THE ENGINEER IN WRITING OF ANY CONFLICT, ERROR, AMBIGUITY, OR DISCREPANCY WITH THE PLANS OR BETWEEN THE PLANS AND ANY APPLICABLE LAW, REGULATION, CODE,
STANDARD SPECIFICATION, OR MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS.
26. THE CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR SUPPORT OF EXISTING UTILITIES AND REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT COSTS OF UTILITIES DAMAGED DURING CONSTRUCTION, WHETHER ABOVE OR BELOW
GRADE. REPLACE DAMAGED UTILITIES IMMEDIATELY AT NO ADDITIONAL COST TO THE OWNER AND AT NO COST TO THE PROPERTY OWNER.
27. TAKE NECESSARY MEASURES AND PROVIDE CONTINUOUS BARRIERS OF SUFFICIENT TYPE, SIZE, AND STRENGTH TO PREVENT ACCESS TO ALL WORK AND STAGING AREAS AT THE COMPLETION
OF EACH DAYS WORK.
28. NO OPEN TRENCHES WILL BE ALLOWED OVER NIGHT. THE USE OF ROAD PLATES TO PROTECT THE EXCAVATION WILL BE CONSIDERED UPON REQUEST, BUT BACKFILLING IS PREFERRED.
29. THE CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL NECESSARY TRAFFIC CONTROL/SAFETY DEVICES TO ENSURE SAFE VEHICULAR AND PEDESTRIAN ACCESS THROUGH THE WORK AREA, OR FOR
SAFELY IMPLEMENTING DETOURS AROUND THE WORK AREA.
30. MAINTAIN EMERGENCY ACCESS TO ALL PROPERTIES WITHIN THE PROJECT AREA AT ALL TIMES DURING CONSTRUCTION.
31. REMOVE AND DISPOSE OF ALL CONSTRUCTION-RELATED WASTE MATERIALS AND DEBRIS IN STRICT ACCORDANCE WITH ALL APPLICABLE LOCAL, STATE, AND FEDERAL LAWS.
32. THE TERM "DEMOLISH" USED ON THE DRAWINGS MEANS TO REMOVE AND DISPOSE OF IN ACCORDANCE WITH LOCAL, STATE, AND FEDERAL REQUIREMENTS.

SITE UTILITY DEMOLITION NOTES:
1. DEMOLISH, REMOVE, AND LEGALLY DISPOSE OF BIT CONC PAVEMENT, STORM SEWER,
UNDERGROUND UTILITIES, CURBING, BOLLARDS, CONCRETE FOUNDATIONS,
CONCRETE PADS, FUEL DISPENSERS, AND FUEL ISLAND CANOPY, SITE SIGNAGE NOT
CALLED OUT TO BE REUSED, ETC. AND ALL ITEMS INDICATED TO BE REMOVED WITHIN
THE PROJECT LIMIT LINE.
2. PROTECT EXISTING UTILITY STRUCTURES NOT IDENTIFIED FOR REMOVAL DURING
UTILITY AND SURFACE DEMOLITION OPERATIONS. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE
RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE INCURRED TO EXISTING UTILITY STRUCTURES AND
SHALL REPAIR OR REPLACE THE EXISTING UTILITY STRUCTURES TO PRE-DAMAGED
CONDITION OR BETTER TO THE SATISFACTION OF THE OWNER AND AT NO
ADDITIONAL COST TO THE OWNER.
3. THE PROVISIONS OF WORKER SAFETY AND/OR HEALTH PROTOCOLS THAT ADDRESS
COMPLIANCE WITH THE RULES, LAWS AND REGULATIONS PERTAINING TO
CONSTRUCTION SAFETY AND/OR THE POTENTIAL AND/OR ACTUAL RISK OF EXPOSURE
TO SITE SPECIFIC PHYSICAL OR CHEMICAL HAZARDS POSED TO THE CONTRACTOR'S
EMPLOYEES IS SOLELY THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CONTRACTOR.
4. PRIOR TO DEMOLITION WORK OF ANY UTILITY COMPANY, CONTACT THE RESPECTIVE
UTILITY COMPANY. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL COORDINATE ANY REMOVAL OF EXISTING
UTILITIES WITH THE RESPECTIVE UTILITY COMPANY.
5. PROTECT ALL EXISTING UTILITIES NOT IDENTIFIED FOR REMOVAL OR ABANDONMENT.
6. DISPOSE OF ALL ITEMS IDENTIFIED FOR REMOVAL/DEMOLITION LEGALLY OFF-SITE.

AST REMOVAL NOTES:
1. "DEMOLISH" SHALL INDICATE "REMOVE AND DISPOSE."
2. DISPOSE OF THE STORAGE TANK IN COMPLIANCE WITH STATE REGULATIONS.
3. THE OWNER SHALL SIGN ALL WASTE DISPOSAL MENIFESTS. PROVIDE A COPY OF THE
SIGNED DISPOSAL MANIFEST TO THE ENGINEER BEFORE THE WASTE LIQUIDS LEAVE
THE SITE.
4. EMPTY TANKS OF ALL FLAMMABLE / COMBUSTIBLE FLUIDS AND RINSE WITH CLEAN
WATER TO REMOVE RESIDUAL MATERIALS. RINSE WATER SHALL BE REMOVED AND
