Berkshire Heights Playground Project

Project Description: Sealed proposals will be received by Wyomissing Borough of Berks County, Pennsylvania, online via the PennBid™ Program, until 11:00 am, on April 11, 2025 for the Berkshire Heights Playground Project.
The bids will be opened and the bid tabulation summaries will be made publicly available on the same day at 1:30 pm (local time) on PennBid™.
The project includes the rehabilitation and expansion of the existing playground area. New playground equipment will be provided and installed, as well as a new retaining wall. In addition to the playground upgrades, two new ADA parking stalls will be constructed, along with an ADA compliant walking path. A portion of the existing access drive will be regraded and reconstructed.
Playground equipment installer must have at least five years’ experience installing similar playground equipment.
This project was financed in part by a grant from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Commonwealth Financing Authority.
Bidders must conform to the Pennsylvania Prevailing wage Act since the estimated construction costs of the project exceed $25,000 and because the project has received state grants that require the payment of PA prevailing wage and issuance of certified payrolls.

The municipal Representative at this time is Jim Babb, Public Works Director.
All Requests for Information shall be submitted online via PennBid™ by 12:00 pm on March 26th to allow time to post an addendum on PennBid™. No responses will be provided for requests received after that time or submitted by other means. Responses will be provided on the website and be visible to all Bidders. Any changes to the plans or specifications will be provided as an Addendum and notice will be given to Bidders through the website via email.
Bids will be publicly awarded on May 13, 2025 at 7:00 pm (local time) at the Wyomissing Borough Hall, 22 Reading Boulevard, Wyomissing, PA 19610.
The bid must be accompanied by a Cashier’s Check, Certified Check, or Bid Bond in the amount of Ten Percent (10%) of the bid, made payable to Wyomissing Borough. Also required are a properly executed Bid Form, Non-Collusion Affidavit, Certification Statement, and Contractor’s Qualification Statement. The successful bidder shall also be required to provide a Performance Bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract amount within ten (10) calendar days of written notice of acceptance of the Bid.
The Borough reserves the right to reject any or all proposals or to accept any portion of any bid, waiving any defects, errors, omissions, irregularities, or informalities in the bid, and to award Contracts as is deemed best for the Borough.
