- Summary It is the intent of these plans and specifications to provide for a contractor who shall provide all labor, materials, tools, and equipment necessary to perform exterior tank painting, interior tank spot repairs, and various other repairs on the Beech Avenue Water Storage Tank.

SCOPE OF WORK
Tank Information:
The structure is a 2,500,000-gallon composite tank with a low-water level of 69 ft. 6 in. located at 5392 Beech Ave. in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
The work includes: Exterior: High pressure water clean (5,000 to 10,000 psi) and spot power tool clean to a SSPC-SP11 standard. Apply a three (3) coat epoxy urethane system.
Dry Interior: Abrasive blast clean the spot coating failures throughout to a SSPC-SP6 commercial standard. Apply a spot two (2) coat epoxy system to the prepared surfaces.
Piping (in the column base): Abrasive blast clean to a SSPC-SP6 commercial standard. Apply a two (2) coat epoxy system.
Modifications:
2.1 Install gaskets on the wet interior roof hatches.
2.2 Install handholds at the roof hatches (inside the roof handrail).
2.3 Install a chemical feed tap on the fill/draw pipe.
2.4 Replace the expansion joint nuts and bolts.
2.5 Install an aluminum jacketing over the fill/draw pipe insulation.
2.6 Install a fall prevention device on the dry interior and wet interior ladders.
2.7 Replace the aviation light.
2.8 Replace the dry interior light bulbs.
Work shall start within ___60___ working days after receipt of notification by Contractor of Notice to Proceed and
shall be completed by November 15, 2026 .
