Bedford Hills Train Station RFP

The Town of Bedford (“Bedford” or the “Town”) is soliciting Proposals (“Proposals”) for the commercial lease of the Bedford Hills Train Station Building in Bedford Hills, NY and certain adjacent areas (the “Site” or “Premises”). By way of lease agreement, the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (“MTA”), a New York public benefit corporation, is the current Lessor of the Site, with the Town as the current Lessee.

The Town’s objective in issuing this RFP is to publicly offer and promote specific property opportunities for revitalization efforts and to help drive economic development in the Town.  Through this RFP solicitation, the Town is eager to partner with a retail café, mixed use venture, or similar commercial establishment to provide the centralized business area in Bedford Hills with an anchored and activated space to help support future commercial growth and expansion opportunities.

The proposed Site for this establishment is the historic Metro North Bedford Hills Station Building. Ideally, the selected tenant will operate at the train station during morning, afternoon, and evening hours. The Town will also entertain proposals that feature a live (acoustic) music component, flexible space to micro-tenants, or incorporation of interior space available to local community groups. The selected tenant will have the opportunity to obtain off-site employee parking in a Town-owned commuter lot.
