Description

Issue Date: 06/11/2025 Contract Number: RF-BNY-RFP-Battery Dry and Clean Rooms
Battery Dry and Clean Rooms
Description:

Battery-NY is seeking proposals for the design, supply, and installation of dry and clean rooms—including
dehumidifiers and ancillary equipment—to support its battery electrode and cell manufacturing operations.
These controlled environments must meet stringent cleanliness and humidity requirements to ensure
optimal material handling, equipment functionality, and overall production quality. The selected solution
should accommodate both anode and cathode processing, providing a contamination-free workspace while
adhering to industry standards such as ISO and ATEX, where applicable. Suppliers are expected to
present a comprehensive plan outlining their approach to meeting these specifications, including facility
layout, environmental controls, and integration with existing manufacturing processes.
The dry and clean rooms will include a suite of quality control equipment and log key process and quality
data—such as temperature and humidity—to a data storage system via an IT interface. The main
requirements are summarized in the following sections.
The dry and clean rooms must be fully installed and operational, with the User Acceptance Test (UAT)
completed on or before the date specified in Section 1. This will ensure the seamless execution of all
upstream and downstream process activities within the planned timeframe. A controlled dry environment is
essential for testing key equipment and processes, from cathode mixing through to cell assembly. Project
delays must be avoided, as they will directly impact downstream operations and ultimately affect the final
project completion date.
Note: Area rules, regulations, codes, and standards shall take precedence over these requirements, with
the purchaser informed in advance of any deviations.
