Bartending Policies & Operational Requirements
Venues at Arsenal Hill
These policies apply to all approved bartending companies providing services at Venues at Arsenal Hill. Approved bartending companies are responsible for ensuring that all staff and subcontractors working events at the venue comply with these policies. Failure to comply may result in removal from the Approved Bartending Program.
1. Approved Bartending Requirement
All bartending companies providing services for events at Venues at Arsenal Hill must be on the approved bartending list.
2. Final Event Walkthrough
A final event walkthrough must be scheduled within sixty (60) days of the event date.
This meeting will include the client, event planner, bartending representative, and a Venues at Arsenal Hill staff member.
Bartending companies are required to attend this meeting to review logistics, bar operations, and venue requirements.
3. Bartending Captain & Venue Coordination
Each bartending company must designate a Bartending Captain or Lead Representative for each event.
The Bartending Captain must check in with venue staff upon arrival, review and sign the Bartending Compliance Checklist, and be present for both arrival and departure walkthroughs.
The Bartending Captain must coordinate with venue staff during the event and check out with venue staff prior to leaving the property.
Venue staff may document the condition of bar service areas during the checkout walkthrough.
4. Ice Use & Disposal
Ice machines located in the Lace House and Caldwell-Boylston House may be used for ice only. No items may be stored inside the ice machine.
Unused ice must be dumped only in kitchen sinks, mop sinks, or over the drain in the designated outdoor staging area.
Ice may not be dumped into landscaping, grass, planting beds, or other exterior areas of the property.
5. Bar & Beverage Station Locations
Bars and beverage stations are not permitted on the main floor of the Lace House or Caldwell-Boylston House.
Bar setup must be located in approved areas designated by venue staff.
6. Alcohol Service
Alcohol may not be served to minors or to any guest appearing visibly intoxicated.
Cash bars and BYOB service are not permitted.
Shots, doubles, and drinks containing more than two liquors are prohibited.
Alcohol service may not exceed four (4) hours during an event.
Bars must close thirty (30) minutes prior to the end of the event and no later than 10:30 p.m.
All bars are required to offer water during service periods.
All alcohol must be removed from the venue by bartending staff at the conclusion of service.
7. Cleanup Responsibilities
All beverage-related trash must be collected and removed from the property by the bartending company.
Venue trash bags may be used, but all filled bags must be removed offsite by bartending staff.
Venue trash cans must be returned to designated storage area at the conclusion of the event.
All rental glassware must be properly broken down and staged in the designated outdoor staging area if approved for later pickup.
8. Staff Conduct
Bartending staff must maintain professional appearance, appropriate uniforms, and hygienic standards.
Bartending staff may not consume alcohol while onsite.
9. Smoking Policy
Smoking and vaping are not permitted inside venue buildings or anywhere on the Venues at Arsenal Hill property.
10. Venue Authority
Venues at Arsenal Hill staff retain the authority to enforce all venue policies and operational requirements during events.
Venue staff may suspend or close bar service at any time if safety concerns arise, alcohol policies are violated, hazardous weather occurs, or venue rules are not being followed.
Failure to comply with venue staff instructions may result in suspension of bartending operations for the event and may affect eligibility to participate in the Approved Bartending Program.
