The Town of Barrington (Town) is seeking sealed Bids for the Barrington Recreational Trail Improvements Project. This project includes furnishing and installing approximately 1,200 linear feet of an 8-foot-wide stone dust path from the connection to the Barrington Recycling Center, continuing south around Prince Pond, approximately 850 linear feet of new 10-foot-wide stone dust path from the existing path, south to Foote Street, a 10-foot-wide stone dust path, new HDPE pipe, new curbing, and accessible ramp on Upland Way at the intersection with Atlantic Crossing. Bids will be received until 11:00 am, EST on March 23, 2026, at the office of the Department of Public Works, 84 Upland Way, Barrington, RI 02806, at which time the bids will be opened and publicly read aloud.
A non-mandatory Pre-Bid Conference will be held at 10:00AM EST on March 3, 2026 at the Barrington Department of Public Works, 84 Upland Way, Barrington, RI 02806.
All bids shall be submitted with one (1) original and one (1) copy that are in one sealed envelope, which should read: YOUR COMPANY NAME plainly marked on the exterior of the envelope as well as “BARRINGTON RECREATIONAL TRAIL IMPROVEMENTS”
Bids received prior to the time of opening will be securely kept, unopened. No bids will be accepted via facsimile or email. NO Bids will be accepted after the date/time of the bid opening as listed in the advertisement. All bids should be written in ink or typed. If there is a correction with whiteout or crossed out, the bidder must initial the change. Negligence on the part of the bidder in preparing the proposal confers no rights for the withdrawal of the proposal after it is open.

Any deviation from the specifications must be noted in writing and attached as part of the bid proposal. The bidder must indicate the item or part with the deviation and indicate how the bid differs from specifications.
Bid Security in the form identified within the Instruction to Bidders, and in the amount of five (5) percent of the total Bid amount, must accompany each bid.
The successful Bidder must furnish a Performance and Payment Bond, in the specific formats as attached herein, both for the full value of the Bid Price, along with all required insurance certificates, within seven (7) calendar days after the award date in order to execute an Agreement.
