Solicitation Description:

WMATA is currently operating with a mix of legacy systems and manual processes to manage fixed assets and warehouse inventory, including barcode scanning tools tied to platforms like PeopleSoft and Maximo, which has led to fragmented workflows, data entry inefficiencies, increased risk of errors, and limited real-time visibility. As part of its broader enterprise modernization effort, WMATA is transitioning to Oracle Fusion ERP to enhance financial management, procurement, and asset accounting, creating an urgent need to modernize asset tracking and inventory management capabilities in alignment with the new system. Simultaneously, warehouse operations continue to rely heavily on paper-based processes, constraining scalability and efficiency. To address these challenges, WMATA is piloting barcoding and RFID-enabled solutions to automate data capture, improve inventory accuracy, and enable real-time visibility across supply chain operations. Collectively, these initiatives present a strategic opportunity to standardize data capture, streamline system integration, and build a scalable, modern foundation for enterprise-wide asset and inventory management.
