Barcodes Inc Tags

The Minnesota Department of Agriculture (MDA) intends to renew an agreement with Barcodes, Inc to provide custom tags for the agency to print and issue to growers. Tags are used to identify crops and verify that they meet certification requirements. They constitute a seal at the time lots are prepared for shipment, and show the date of issuance, the class, the grade, and the approximate weight of a given load.

The die that prints on the tags and its associated software is solely available from and supported by Barcodes, and is customized for Barcodes tags. They are not available from other third parties. MDA determined that Barcodes tags are the only commercially reasonably available commodity product.
