The 31 Contracting Squadron in Aviano AB is seeking to acquire new 15-ton pneumatic lifting modules that are compatible with the 15-Ton system currently in possession. The Air Force is contemplating a brand-name requirement, according to TO 35D5-5-7-1, as follows:
"The air bag assembly consists of 5 pneumatic modules, 15 hose assemblies, 4 protective pads, and a repair kit. Each pneumatic module consists of 3 elements made from fabric. Each element is a self-contained compartment that is designed to be inflated with air. To prevent deformation when pressurized, the top and bottom of each element is connected by approximately 30,000 drop strings per square yard. Each element has two molded in ports, one for a relief valve, the other for a gasketed adaptor and socket that provides for attachment of an air hose assembly. The elements are attached together around the edges with fabric. Each pneumatic module has handles and velcro patches that allow attachment of one module to another to form a 5 module stack during operation. The repair kit provides materials necessary to patch damages areas of the pneumatic modules."
