Autonomous Airborne Wildfire Sensing Pilot

Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency (SPSA) intends to contract with Lux Aerobot Inc. for Operational Pilot Services - Autonomous Airborne Wildfire Sensing on the basis that SPSA believes that Lux Aerobot Inc. is the only supplier capable of meeting the requirements of this pilot because the service is novel and specialized balloon-borne autonomous sensing technology; there is no known alternative suppliers that offer an equivalent, deployable solution capable of operating within wildfire airspace under Canadian Aviation Regulations; and can complete the pilot within the 2026 Wildfire Season.

Written statements of the suppliers’ capabilities, referencing ACAN #SPSA-ACAN-2026-125 in an email to Howard.Georgeson@gov.sk.ca are to be received on or before 5:00 p.m. CST (Local Saskatchewan Time), 04/24/2026. If no responses are received, a contract may be pursued with the supplier.
