Release Date: 7/29/2025
Due Date: 8/28/2025
The City of Tucson is seeking sealed proposals from qualified automotive body repair firms to establish an annual requirements contract for Automotive Vehicle Body Repair and Refinishing Services per the Scope of Work contained in this proposal. The City utilizes the Mitchell Estimating System. The City intends to make multiple non-positional awards, whereby the awarded Contractor(s) will have the opportunity to provide quotes on specific body repair and refinishing work when required by Fleet Services. When specific repair and/or refinishing jobs are required, the City's Fleet Services will provide completed repair/refinishing estimate to the awarded Contractor(s) and request a price quote. The request will also include a delivery deadline. Fleet Services will evaluate the responses and award the specific job to the Contractor whose quote is most advantageous to Fleet Services with respect to price and delivery time. Estimated contract spend is estimated at over $750K for the life of the contract term.
NOTE: Automotive exterior paint re-conditioning services is not included in this solicitation, rather paint re-conditioning service is provided under a separate contract.
The City of Tucson's Fleet includes approximately 1800 vehicles which include the following vehicle classes:
- Class 1 & 2: Types of vehicles to be serviced under the resulting contract will include, but are not limited to, sedans, vans, SUV's and pick-up trucks through one-ton models (class 1 & 2 vehicles).
- Class 3, 4 and 5: The resulting contract will also cover utility body trucks through classes 3, 4 & 5 that are similar in construction to their class 1 & 2 counterparts. Utility body manufacturers include Stahl, Koenig, and Knapheide.
