Leduc County
In Leduc County’s 2025 budget, $80,000 was approved to plan future athletic fields concepts. Initial work has included stakeholder discussions, and the intent of this RFP is the selection of a consultant to support conceptual design and implementation.
A location has been identified that is situated ideally to support the City of Leduc, City of Beaumont and Leduc County with a primary focus of baseball use but to also include opportunities for additional athletic partnerships that may be possible within the identified space. This project will provide an analytical study that identifies the need, opportunity and a pathway towards future athletic field development to support community needs. Based upon these planning efforts, we hope to receive a multi municipal approval in early 2026 to further define and implement a plan towards athletic field development in 2027. The proposed future development is intended to be a showcase facility for the Leduc region that meets community need, is sustainable but also provides opportunity to host events that attract visitors to the region and creates a sense of pride for the local organizations that will utilize this space.
If budget allows, a second athletic field located in vicinity to the East Vistas urban development immediately west of Beaumont may be added to this project as an extension option to the agreement. This site has the potential for community level playing fields and ball diamonds.
