Project Description: Sealed bids will be received electronically through PennBidTM by Aston Township and Lower Chichester Township for 2026 Road Program, until 10:00 AM, prevailing time, on the 6th day of March 2026 at which time and place they will be opened and the bid results posted on PennBid™. All documents and solicitation details are available online anytime at no cost at PennBidTM (www.pennbid.bonfirehub.com). Note, PennBidTM assess a fee to the bidder who is issued the award. Each bid must be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond payable to the Owner in an amount of not less than ten percent (10%) of the bid or bids. Only bonds from companies licensed to do business in the State where the Owner is located will be accepted and the bond shall so state same.
Performance and Payment bonds or certified check in the amount of 100% of the contract shall be furnished by the successful bidder within 20 days after the contract is awarded. Separate performance and payment bonds will be required for each Township.
This project involves milling, superpave wearing course, superpave base repair, leveling, pavement markings, and appurtenant work.
This project is subject to prevailing wage rates in accordance with Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry. Prospective bidders must be pre-qualified with PENNDOT in accordance with Section 102.01 of PENNDOT Publication 408 – Specifications, latest edition thereof. Liquidated damages apply at the rate of $885.00 per calendar day.
Bids must be submitted unconditionally. No bidder may withdraw bid within SIXTY (60) days after the scheduled closing time for receipt of bids.
The Owners reserve the right to waive any informalities, or to reject any or all bids.
