DESCRIPTION:   SBCSS is seeking a qualified vendor to provide arborist services at various administrative and school sites throughout the East Valley, West End, and Desert/Mountain regions of San Bernardino County. Services to begin July 1, 2026.

This Addendum modifies the original Bid Document dated May 12, 2026, and Addendum No. 1 dated May 29, 2026, as indicated herein. All
addenda must be acknowledged in the designated space on the SIGNATURE PAGE. Failure to do so will render the bid non-responsive.
1. Will the County consider requiring a C-31 Contractor’s license given that a portion of the work will take
place on public rights of way?
ANSWER: No.
2. Will the County require any other certifications from the ISA beyond a Certified Arborist?
ANSWER: ISA Certified Tree Workers will be required for this project. Any additional certifications may be included as
appendices within the proposal but are not required.
3. What days of the week and times is the contractor allowed to work on the school sites?
ANSWER: Permitted workdays and hours will vary depending on whether school is in session or not. The majority of
work is anticipated to occur on weekends (Saturdays and Sundays) and during school holiday breaks to minimize
disruption to school operations.
4. If the contractor must complete work on the weekend or after hours, how will this be charged?
ANSWER: This would be completed under the rates already provided. No separate weekend or overtime line item
will be added.
5. Will the County consider visiting each proposer’s headquarters to fully evaluate their capabilities as part
of the evaluation process?
ANSWER: Site visits to CONTRACTOR’S headquarters are not a standard component of the evaluation process;
however, the SUPERINTENDENT reserves the right to conduct such visits at their discretion if deemed necessary.
6. Is the contractor required to have a Crane and 90’ boom in their fleet or can they be rented?
ANSWER: While it is preferred that the CONTRACTOR has access to a crane with a 90-foot boom in their fleet, it is
not required. Equipment may be rented as needed, provided it is available for regular or emergency assignments if
needed.
7. Will the County require a mobile application for the inventory management platform? If so, does the
application have to be developed and managed in-house?
ANSWER: No, a mobile application is not required. However, if the CONTRACTOR offers a mobile application, its
details and functionality may be included as an appendix to the proposal for consideration.

8. Are gas-powered blowers allowed?

ANSWER: Yes, provided that it complies with all applicable local laws and state regulations.
9. How long is the warranty for tree planting and is the contractor responsible for watering the tree during
that time? If so, how will trees/sites be accessed?
ANSWER: The warranty period for tree planting is six (6) months. During this time, the CONTRACTOR will be responsible
for watering the trees. Access to the sites will be coordinated with a SUPERINTENDENT designee, as needed.
10. Will there be a site provided for parking of vehicles & equipment and/or staging of materials?
ANSWER: No, all equipment must be removed from the property at the end of each workday for safety and security
reasons.
11. How much of the stump and grinded chips will be required for removal prior to backfilling of the hole?
ANSWER: All grinded chips must be removed and replaced with a planting soil mix.
12. Is the Contractor required to collect a new inventory as part of this contract?
ANSWER: The current inventory will be provided at the start of services. Updates will be the responsibility of the
Awarded CONTRACTOR.
13. Who from the County assigns tree work?
ANSWER: Work done at administrative sites will be coordinated by the Manager of Building Services . Work done at
the school sites will be coordinated by the Maintenance Manager or Maintenance & Operations Scheduler.
14. Will the contractor be compensated for travel time given that the school sites are very spread apart?
ANSWER: No, the CONTRACTOR will not be compensated for travel time. CONTRACTORS are expected to account
for travel time in their proposal.
15. How will work be charged when trees are inaccessible to equipment?
ANSWER: Trees inaccessible by equipment will be handled on a case by-case basis with no guarantee for crew
rental.
