Title: Annual Electrical Services - Job Order Contract (JOC)
Addenda: 0
Release Date: 3/4/2026
Due Date: 4/8/2026
Alachua County Facilities Management is responsible for maintaining the safety, reliability, and operational performance of electrical systems across County owned facilities. Electrical infrastructure is critical to supporting daily operations, life safety systems, public services, and regulatory compliance. Timely maintenance, upgrades, and repairs are essential to ensure uninterrupted service and long term asset preservation.
To support these objectives efficiently, the County seeks to establish a Job Order Contract for Electrical Contractor Services. This contracting method provides flexibility to complete multiple small and mid sized electrical projects across various County facilities without issuing separate solicitations for each project. The JOC approach enables faster project delivery, consistent workmanship standards, and predictable pricing through pre established unit costs and competitively bid adjustment factors.
Under this contract, qualified, licensed, and experienced electrical contractors will provide on call services for installations, repairs, upgrades, and system modifications. Work may include but is not limited to power distribution, lighting systems, panel replacements, equipment connections, backup power systems, fire alarm infrastructure, access control systems, and other building related electrical components. Services may be performed in administrative, judicial, public safety, corrections, and operational facilities.
The County intends to award contracts to a pool of prequalified contractors capable of delivering projects under strict safety, quality, and cost control standards. Individual job orders will not exceed $200,000 and will be issued on an as needed basis. Selected contractors must demonstrate the ability to mobilize quickly, self perform the majority of the work, manage multiple assignments concurrently, and complete projects with minimal disruption to County operations.
This JOC program ensures that Alachua County can address electrical needs proactively, maintain code compliance, support mission critical operations, and preserve facility infrastructure in a cost effective and timely manner.
