ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS
Sealed bids will be received for the 2025 CDBG, at Americus City Hall, 101 West Lamar Street,
Americus, Georgia 31709 until __August 11, 2026__ at 11 a.m., at which time they will be publicly
opened and read.
The work under this Contract will consist generally of the following:
Storm drain system improvements, including traffic control, erosion control measures, and
construction of 208 LF of 54" RCP, 198 LF of 36" RCP. Water System Improvement include the
construction of approximately 3,772 LF of 6-inch PVC C900 water main and all other necessary
appurtenances for a complete job.
All work on the Project must be completed within 180 consecutive calendar days of date of notice
to proceed.
Bid shall be submitted on Bid Proposal Forms furnished for that purpose, in accordance with the
Contract Documents and the Plans and Specifications which are on file and may be reviewed at the office
of the Mayor and the office of Hofstadter and Associates, Inc., Consulting Engineers, 4571 Arkwright
Road, Macon, Georgia 31210.
Copies of Bid Forms, Plans, Specifications and Contract Documents may be obtained from
Hofstadter and Associates, Inc. Consulting Engineers, 4571 Arkwright Road, Macon, Georgia 31210,
upon deposit of $ 200.00 per set. No refund will be made for returned documents.
No bid will be considered unless sealed and filed with the City of Americus prior to the time set
forth above, and accompanied by a Bidder's Bond, payable to the City of Americus, Georgia, for 10
percent of the amount of the bid; to be forfeited as liquidated damages in the event that the bid be
accepted and the bidder fail to enter promptly into a written contract and furnish the required Payment
Bond and Performance Bond and Insurance Certificates. Bids arriving after the designated time will be
returned unopened.
This project is covered under the requirements of Section 3 of the HUD Act of 1968. The Policy
requires that contracting opportunities should be posted or advertised in a minimum of three locations.

Build America, Buy America (BABA) Contract Clause
All requirements of the Build America, Buy America (BABA) Act, 41 USC 8301 note, and all applicable rules and notices, as
may be amended, shall be complied with if applicable to the infrastructure project. Pursuant to HUD's Notice, "Public Interest
Phased Implementation Waiver for FY 2022 and 2023 of Build America, Buy America Provisions as Applied to Recipients of
HUD Federal Financial Assistance" (88 FR 17001), any funds obligated by HUD on or after the applicable listed effective
dates, are subject to BABA requirements, unless excepted by a waiver.
No bids shall be withdrawn for a period of 60 days after the opening of bids. The City of Americus
reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to overlook and/or disregard informalities or irregularities in
the proposals.
