AGFC needs an evaluation of the level of confidence our current methodologies provide around harvestable population estimates, as well as evaluations of potential alternative survey methodologies, intensities, and statistical methods that could be employed to improve or increase confidence around those estimates. This research should utilize prior survey data to assess potential alternative survey and statistical methodologies and use the 2027 and 2028 sampling seasons to test these new methodologies using.
