This specification covers aluminum sulfate (Alum) for use in the coagulation of suspended particles in untreated surface water. The concentration of the alum shall be 48 wt% and be ANSI/NSF Standard 60 approved. Alum shall be delivered in bulk shipments of approximately 5,000 gallons per delivery, with an estimated usage of 90,000 gallons. Packaging and shipments shall conform to all applicable Federal, State, and Local laws and regulations.
