Per anticipated employer statement, tools must be durable, high-quality tools and meet current industry and safety standards. The employer provided a list of required tools (type, quantities, size, etc.) and material characteristics, as well as brand names and potential sources, which over time have been proven by master mechanics to perform satisfactorily.
Tool specifications are included in the description for each contract line item. There are no specific regulations regarding required tool composition. However, all tools and materials shall be certified by the manufacturer as meeting established industry standards and, as applicable, those of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), other regulatory agencies needed so the tools may be used in maintenance of commercial aircraft.
