Description: NOTICE OF FUNDING AVAILABILITY New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) is soliciting grant applications for funding available for the following program: AIR NY Airport Investment and Revitalization for New York (up to $25 million) DESCRIPTION: This program provides funding for capital projects to enhance the State’s airport infrastructure and improve the safety and efficiency of the State’s aviation services to increase economic competitiveness. ELIGIBLE APPLICANTS: Any municipal corporation; public authority or public benefit corporation, except a bi-state authority; other owners of public use airports; or any combination of permitted applicants. ELIGIBLE PROJECT TYPES: Eligible airport projects include, but are not limited to:
AWARD CONDITIONS AND REQUIREMENTS: All projects must have a minimum service life of at least 10 years, and the State share shall not exceed $2,500,000. To be eligible for funding, airports must:
To be eligible, projects must meet the following requirements:
When a grant project is a component of a larger project, all grant project documentation including, but not limited to, plans and specifications, contract bid documents, scope change requests and requests for reimbursement must correspond to the scope of the portion funded by the grant. Grant projects which cannot be documented independently from other components of the larger project are not eligible for funding under this program. Applications for funding to complete projects previously funded by this program are not eligible. Minimum local match requirements are determined by airport type and activity as defined below: For general aviation airports, relievers and commercial service airports with less than 50,000 annual enplanements, the State share can be up to 90% of eligible project costs (applicant provides at least 10%).
APPLICATIONS: The funding solicitation opens October 3, 2024. Applicants will submit applications via the State’s SFS System: https://sfs.ny.gov/ . Application guidance and supporting materials are available online at www.dot.ny.gov/aviationgrants . Applications will be accepted until Wednesday, January 22, 2025 at 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time.
