Sole source is proposed to Bio-Rad Laboratories (Canada) Ltd. for the supply of three (3) Precellys Evolution Tissues homogenizers (Goods) for TSE workflows on behalf of Agriculture and Irrigation (Purchaser).

The Agri-Food Assurance Section (AFAS) laboratory is currently involved in testing for transmissible spongiform encephalopathies (TSE) using a test that was developed and validated by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA). CFIA developed and validated this test using BioRad technology and equipment.

A Request for Quotes will be issued directly to Bio-Rad Laboratories (Canada) Ltd. as they are the only vendor able to supply the Goods as required by the CFIA.

This procurement is subject to Chapter 5 (Government Procurement) of the Canadian Free Trade Agreement and the New West Partnership Trade Agreement.
