ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS

Notice is hereby given that the Board of Supervisors of Amite County

on behalf of its Sheriff's Department will receive sealed bids at the

Courthouse in the Town of Liberty, Amite County, Mississippi, until 9:00

a.m. on the 1st day of December, 2025, for the following, to-wit:

CONTRACT FOR FEEDING PRISONERS

A one year contract beginning January 1, 2026, and ending December 31,

2026, for feeding prisoners incarcerated in the Amite County Jail. Meals

must be nutritious, well balanced, tasty meals, served three (3) times a day,

seven days a week. Under Section 19-25-73 of the Mississippi Code. Bid

price should be stated at price per meal based on one (1) or more prisoners

per day. Feeding times to be arranged with Sheriff's Office. Two (2) hot

meals each day and one (1) cold meal each day. Meals will be prepared on

site by bidder in Sheriff’s Department Kitchen, County will provide kitchen

and will serve meals only. Detailed specifications which must be followed in

meal preparation may be obtained from Amite County Purchase Clerk,

Brittani Dixon, 601/657-8341.

The Board will pay for said meals on a monthly billing.

The Board of Supervisors reserves the right to reject any and all bids.

Contract will be awarded on the basis of lowest and best bid.

If the Amite County Courthouse/Board of Supervisors is closed for any

reason, including but not limited to: acts of God, strikes, lockouts, riots, acts

of war, epidemics, governmental regulations superimposed after the fact,

fire, earthquakes, floods or other natural disasters (the “Force Majeure

Events”), which closure prevents the opening of bids at the advertised date

and time, all bids received shall be publicly opened and read aloud on the

next business day that the Amite County Courthouse/Board of Supervisors

shall be open and at the previously advertised time. The new date and time

of the bid opening, as determined in accordance with this paragraph, shall

not be advertised, and all Vendors/Contractors, upon submission of a bid

proposal, shall be deemed to have knowledge of and shall have agreed to

the provisions of this paragraph. Bids shall be received by the agency until

the new date and time of the bid opening as set forth herein. The Amite

County Courthouse/Board of Supervisors shall not be held responsible for

the receipt of any bids for which the delivery was attempted and failed due

to the closure of the agency as a result of a Force Majeure Event. Each

Vendor/Contractor shall be required to ensure the delivery and receipt of

its bid by the agency prior to the new date and time of the bid opening.

Contract Term shall be January 2026 or upon award by the Amite County

Board of Supervisors, whichever is later, through December 2026, subject

to extension and termination provisions.
