Advertisement for Bids: C1623 – Works Progress Administration (“WPA”) Street Reconstruction (58th, Washtenaw, 57th)

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
The Public Building Commission of Chicago (PBC) has invited all Contractors to bid on PBC Contract C1623, Works Progress Administration (“WPA”) Street Reconstruction (W. 58th St., South Washtenaw Ave., W. 57th St.).

The WPA Street Reconstruction (W. 58th St., South Washtenaw Ave., W. 57th St.) Project is located at:

• W. 58 ^th St. – West 58 ^th Street from South Hamilton Avenue to South Damen Avenue Chicago, IL
• S. Washtenaw Ave. – South Washtenaw Avenue from West 36 ^th Place to West 37 ^th Place Chicago, IL
• W. 57 ^th St. – West 57 ^th Street from South Western Avenue to Dead End East Chicago, IL

The project consists of a Works Progress Administration (“WPA”) street reconstruction Project, including: full-depth pavement reconstruction of the location indicated above. Work includes but isn’t limited to excavation, portland cement concrete base course, hot-mix asphalt surface course, sewer main, water main and drainage structures, water main, concrete curb and gutter, concrete sidewalks, tactile/detectable warning surface system for curb ramps, concrete driveways and alleys, lighting, thermoplastic pavement marking, signs, topsoil, sodding, tree removal and planting.

Contractor will be required to prepare a Phasing and Logistics Plan within thirty (30) days of issuance of the Notice to Proceed (‘NTP’) for review and approval by CDOT and PBC, prior to the mobilization and commencement of any Work. The Contractor shall also be responsible for providing critical submittals, including electrical lighting (poles and luminaires), sewer and water main, and concrete mix design, as determined by the PBC, within thirty (30) days of issuance of the NTP.

BID OPENING:
