ADDENDUM NO. 3

Addendum No. 3 has been issued for the bid “Rehabilitation of County Bridge No. K0607 New

Brunswick Road over Al's Brook, Township of Franklin, Somerset County, New Jersey, Contract

No. 22008”, on Wednesday, January 3, 2024 and has been delivered by electronic transmission

to all eligible contractors who have received bid specifications.

The original bid specification packages for the above referenced project are amended as noted.

QUESTIONS / CLARIFICATIONS

Question 11: Does precast arch system have to be an approved product by Somerset County?

Answer 11:

There are no approved products for the precast arch system. Refer to NJDOT

Standard Specifications Sections 505 and 904, and Supplemental Specifications

Section 505 for design and submittal requirements, and for precast plant

requirements.

Question 12: Are we able to supply MSE panels that are 5.5” thick for this project, in line with

the typical thickness?

Answer 12:

Refer to NJDOT Standard Specifications Section 904.02.02 which indicates to use

a system listed on the QPL to fabricate prefabricated modular walls or

mechanically stabilized earth walls. Fabricate precast concrete at a plant as

specified in 1011.01 and listed on the QPL. Pre-Approved Alternative wall types

are listed Note #4 on Bid Document Plans Sheet 48. The second sentence of

Note #5 on Bid Document Plans Sheet 51 not applicable and is deleted from the

project. Refer to attached Plan Sheet 51R of 54.
