QUESTION

As it pertains to Jonathan Law HS, does HP-1/FCU-1 &

FCU-2 require BACnet interface to communicate with the

Jonhson Controls BMS System?

In speaking with our Sales Engineer at Trane, the specified

alternate unit ACRTU-004 at Orchard hills is a 4TCC4024

series unit. These units are electro-mechanically controlled

and do not have an option for “factory installed controls” or a

BACnet card. They will need inputs regarding temperature

sensing, and contact closures for heat/cool, etc. Base bid

ACRTU-033 at Mathewson is also a similar unit. Please

confirm JCI controls mounted in these (2) Trane RTU’s is

the design intent.

The bid form has lines for alternate bids, one for each

school. Please confirm this is for an individual price for each

school inclusive of all work less any alternates.

All schools, with the exception of Jonathan Law have an

alternate for seismic curbs, however the bid form only lists

an alternate for Orchard Hills for RTU-4. Please confirm if

an updated bid form will be issued, with (4) alternates for

seismic curbs for the (4) schools requiring such.

The base bid call for existing curbs to be seismically

reinforced. As no seismic/vibration engineers are willing to

perform a delegated designed on an existing curb, on an

existing roof, please detail what is required at each curb for

reinforcement/anchorage.

temperature from BMS.

The hazardous material reports are attached to

addendum #2. The bid alternate for Asbestos

Abatement has been removed from the bid form which

is reissued with Addn #2. The Owner will arrange for

and pay for hazardous material abatement

concurrently with the chosen contractor's job progress

at the schools. The Contractor is responsible for

coordinating their schedule with the Owner and

Abatement company so that the Contractor's progress

is not affected in any way.

Duct cleaning is required for all duct systems serving

RTUs and AHUs being replaced.

Installation of the new seismic/wind rated roof curbs

requirements. Attachment to structure shall be a

methods approved by roofing manufacturer.

Notifier is the vendor. Firetech is the installing

contractor.
