Signature of Contractor and Date
The following statements supersede & supplement the corresponding items in the specifications & drawings:
1. Question: For the 3 foot wide maintenance path on each side of boardwalk, may we use mechanical means to clear vegetation as we perform demolition activities? As in tractor, backhoe or skid steer.
Answer: Yes, as long as adjacent vegetation outside the 3ft area is not disturbed.
2. Question: As much of the vegetation to be cleared is mangrove of some type, will DEP provide a Mangrove trimming/clearing permit for this project?
Answer: The contractor shall pull all necessary Building Department Permits.
3. Question: As the cleared pathway debris are decomposing plant matter, may we spread such debris adjacent to the project boardwalk? Or should all cleared plant material be removed off site completely?
Answer: All debris should be removed from the site.
4. Question: Is the stainless steel referred to for bolts, nut washers, fasteners and the like grade 304 or grade 316?
Answer: 316.
5. Question: Has the consultant of record, WEC, submitted plans to Collier County Building Department for permit review?
Answer: WEC submitted for a Collier County site plan permit (Site Improvement Plan- PL20230003580).
6. Question: Drawing S102 detail 1 shows ADA grab rail only without bottom rail on the cross section of the boardwalk. But detail 3 on S104, detail 2 on S103 as well and detail 2 on S102 show handrail with bottom rail. Please confirm bottom rail is required. If bottom railing is required can the detailed drawing with distances between rail be provided?
Answer: The bottom rail of an ADA grab rail is not required. The top rail of the ADA grab rail is required at a height of 34” to 38” above standing surface.
7. Question: Once the bid tabulation is posted, do you have a timeline for issuing a Notice to Award?
Answer: Notice to proceed may be scheduled upon receipt of county permits, and FDEP project manager’s receipt and acceptance of contractor’s safety plan, project schedule and schedule of values.
8. Question: What is the anticipated start date for this project?
Answer: unavailable
9. Question: Are stored materials for this project billable?
Answer: No, we only pay for installed materials.
10. Question: In the case of a change order once the contract has been issued where our P&P bond cost goes up accordingly, how do you propose that we address this additional, directly related cost? ITB documents state on pg. 82 that the bond cost is to be paid by contractor and included in the contract price. When contract price increases due to change order, how do we bill to recover this additional cost?
Answer: Bonds must match any adjustments made to the contract amount. Change Order costs (including additional bonding) can be billed once a CO is fully executed and that work completed. It is fully expected that there will not be any COs on this project.
In all other respects, the contract documents of which this is an Addendum, and attachments relative thereto, shall remain in full force and effect.
